Alternative diesel fuels

All current Tadano cranes can also be operated with various alternative diesel fuels, depending on the model. In many cases, the use of these fuels enables emission-reduced crane operation that is more climate and environmentally friendly.

Technology description

Lower emissions. More climate and environmental protection.

In the ongoing discussion about climate and environmentally friendly crane operation, the focus is mainly on the alternative diesel fuel HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil). It is a renewable fuel based on vegetable oils and animal fats, which, for example, can be obtained as waste products from food production. HVO has almost the same energy density as fossil diesel, but is virtually carbon-neutral from production to combustion because no fossil fuels are used in its manufacture. It is also temperature stable to -30°C without additives.
